History
Started in 2005 by founder Dr. David Kavesteen, Heart and Health Medical earned a reputation for providing the best Cardiology care in Long Island, accumulating patient and industry awards, along with local and state government recognition. Over the past 15 years, Heart and Health has expanded its team to include not just the best cardiologists in Long Island, New York, but also the top specialists in Internal Medicine, Allergy & Immunology, Podiatry, and Women’s Health. The doctors at Heart and Health Medical treat patients for preventive care and annual check-ups, to diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and many ailments in between. Meet The Founder of Heart and Health Medical
David Kavesteen MD, FACC, FCCP
Dr. David Kavesteen graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Stony Brook, with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and a distinction in research. Following his passion, he received his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, School of Medicine, completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the prestigious New York University Medical Center, before continuing further education specializing in cardiovascular diseases and nuclear cardiology completing his fellowship training at Maimonides Medical Center. Board Certified in Internal Medicine 2001, Cardiovascular Diseases 2006, and Nuclear Cardiology 2004. Dr. Kavesteen is a diplomate of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest, American Board of Internal medicine, and American Medical Association. Heart and Health Medical and Dr. Kavesteen have received numerous awards and have been published in multiple medical journals.

Dr. Kavesteen believes that prevention and early detection is the key to longevity and maintaining a healthy heart and life. His genuine interest in prevention in all facets of medicine has given him a unique perspective in healing and rejuvenation. In recent years, he has combined Eastern medicine with Western medicine and believes that the human body should be treated as a whole with a custom treatment plan for each individual.
