Peripheral Vascular Studies:
Patients that experience leg pain in one or both calves, thighs, or hips may have this test; however, only about half the patients that have peripheral vascular disease actually experience symptoms.
There are several studies that investigate different arteries located throughout the anatomy.
- Arterial Doppler
- Abdominal
- Lower/ Upper Arterial/ Venous Doppler
- Ankle-Brachial Index
- Pulmonary Function Testing
- Renal Artery Doppler
- Carotid Doppler
Physicians order peripheral vascular tests when they suspect a problem with a patient’s circulation or blood flow throughout the body. The test is used to investigate whether or not there are any significant blood clots in a patient’s arteries or veins.
